Press Release
Caspar de Haan, specialist in maintenance and making real estate more sustainable, will take over sector colleague Rendon Onderhoudsgroep on September 1, 2022. In this way, both regionally strongly anchored family businesses will be able to respond even better to the increasingly complex and larger market demand from housing associations in the further preservation and maintenance of their real estate.
By combining the different specialties of both companies, they can offer clients a broader range of services. With the acquisition, the parties are responding to the growing need for well-trained professionals in an increasingly tight labor market.
Craftsmen central
Caspar de Haan and Rendon are family businesses that have been around for generations and know how to build a solid future. In the vision of both organizations, people are central to this. Cas de Haan, shareholder of Caspar de Haan: "our people come first, people are our success factor, they ensure that our customers get the best possible service. That is why we attach great value to the continuous development of employees. A great example of this is the Caspar de Haan Academy that we established in 2017 to give all employees of the organization the opportunity to grow further. The professionals can thus broaden their knowledge in-house, keep the work challenging and remain sustainably employable."
"A philosophy that fits seamlessly with Rendon's 'continued learning' vision," said Rendon general manager Tom Heintjes. "Because our professional tradesmen will use each other's expertise where necessary, both organizations can continue to grow precisely in this challenging labor market."
Responding to market of the future
Rendon has 134 employees and operates from three offices in Voorburg, Arkel and Eindhoven and a branch office in Haarlem. With the acquisition of Rendon, Caspar de Haan expands further geographically into the central and western parts of the Netherlands.
The collaboration creates greater clout in the areas of innovation, automation, recruitment of top talent and risk management. In doing so, both organizations bring in their own specialties. An example is the expertise in the field of concrete repair and floor coatings as contributed by Rendon.
Nationwide partner in real estate sustainability
In May of this year, Caspar de Haan merged with De Variabele. Also a family business and also a specialist in the maintenance and renovation market. De Variabele is mainly active in the central and eastern parts of the Netherlands. Caspar de Haan and De Variabele continued to work under their own names in their own regions even after the merger.
The merger of Caspar de Haan and De Variabele has created a leading party in the Dutch real estate and maintenance market with over 700 employees and a turnover of over €150 million. The combination has the ambition to grow into a national player in real estate sustainability. With the arrival of Rendon, its geographical position is now further strengthened.
By joining Caspar de Haan, Rendon bids farewell to the VADO family after 26 years of cooperation. VADO has carefully considered the sale of Rendon and in recent years shifted its focus in investments more to companies in Metal & Plastic and Machine & Equipment Construction. These fit better into its investment strategy. The companies in those segments within VADO have much in common and often reinforce each other.
For Rendon's long-term value creation, cooperation with Caspar de Haan and De Variabele is more obvious and creates opportunities for the healthy further development of Rendon.
