Daan Steenbergen sets up practice for search for commissioners

Daan Steenbergen has been appointed managing partner of JBR Governance. This is a new subsidiary of JBR.

New practice focusing on the development and professionalization of the Supervisory Board.

Daan brings extensive experience from executive search, executive counseling and leadership development. At Capita Selecta, he worked as managing partner for over 18 years. Before that, he was active in international search organizations such as Spencer Stuart and Odgers Berndtson.

Collaboration with JBR

The JBR Governance team consists of professionals active in the field of Supervisory Search, but also in the field of Boardroom evaluation; self-evaluation, strategy, conflict mediation. For a better understanding of the financial dynamics within an organization, we enjoy working with the JBR Institute.

Daan Steenbergen: "Setting up a practice with a focus on the development and professionalization of the Supervisory Board, within JBR's biotope, was an opportunity I couldn't turn down. Especially since nice lines come together here. We can fall back on all the knowledge and experience available at JBR. A sounding board and think tank with a lot of (inter)national experience."

He continues his explanation: "Our knowledge and the market in which the client operates is one of the basic conditions for conducting a successful search. Within JBR is a wealth of sector and company information. We have insight into developments and trends within the sectors in which JBR is active; this information is updated for each project. Possessing such information is unique. It offers the opportunity to bring in-depth, market knowledge to the profile of the desired candidate within a search.

This is combined with an extensive intake with the client, the environmental research, which ultimately results in the profile; company, role and ideal candidate. Through communication, thorough questioning and the necessary tenacity, the right candidates are selected. We include all stakeholders in the process, are clear about where we stand at any given time and do everything possible to avoid unexpected 'disappointments'."
