JBR Facilitates the Sale of Hofstede Advies to Studibo
We are proud to look back on our successful guidance of the shareholder of Hofstede Advies in the sale to Studibo, the fast-growing group of specialized consulting and engineering firms backed by investment firm IceLake Capital.
About Hofstede Advies
Based in Utrecht, Hofstede Advies has been supporting real estate professionals for decades in the purchase, sale, redevelopment, renovation, and sustainability improvements of real estate. The team clearly identifies risks related to soil, asbestos, and the technical condition of buildings and translates those insights into practical and independent advice—ranging from research and consulting to full-scale project management for soil remediation, asbestos removal, demolition, and renovation work. This pragmatic approach, combined with a focus on quality, reliability, and cost control, has earned Hofstede a strong reputation and a loyal client base within the Dutch real estate sector.

About Studibo
With the addition of Hofstede Advies, Studibo Nederland now consists of ten specialized brands and more than 150 experts, each operating under their own familiar brand, working closely with their clients while maintaining their entrepreneurial spirit. Together, they are building a comprehensive Dutch portfolio in the areas of real estate consulting, architectural and mechanical/electrical engineering, fire safety, inspections, environmental research, and sustainability certifications such as BREEAM, GPR, LEED, and WELL.

The transaction
For the shareholder of Hofstede Advies, the transaction offered a solution ensuring the long-term continuity of the company, its employees, and its clients. With Hofstede, Studibo acquires a strongly positioned niche consulting firm with in-depth expertise in soil, asbestos, and technical real estate consulting—and thus ample room for further growth, knowledge sharing, and cross-selling within the broader Studibo group.
JBR’s Role
JBR acted as the exclusive financial advisor to the selling shareholder throughout the entire sale process. The scope of work included, among other things:
- Preparation of the teaser, information memorandum, and sales documentation;
- Approaching and selecting potential strategic and financial buyers;
- Support for management presentations and negotiations;
- Coordination of the due diligence process;
- Advice on valuation, transaction structure, and reinvestment;
- Support throughout the negotiations on the transaction documentation through to closing.
