Looking ahead as a guide: JBR chooses new sponsorship goal

We choose a special multi-year sponsorship goal that inspires us to look to the future with an open mind: Jur Deitmers' ItsME foundation.

JBR is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year. Therefore, this year we celebrate our anniversary year with the theme "Imagine Tomorrow,": dwelling on the past is important, but we put the future first. As an organization, we have a rich history with a lot of knowledge and experience, which still brings us much to this day. Yet the past can also be a brake: there are certain experiences, norms and values that influence our outlook.

Since this year, we have a new multi-year sponsorship goal that inspires us to look to the future with an open mind. We sponsor the ItsME foundation. A foundation founded by Jur Deitmers.

In 2017, Jur was struck twice by severe brain inflammation, which caused all his experiences and memory to disappear until the age of 21. His memories of his childhood, family, friends and studies were gone. Even basic skills and unwritten rules he had to relearn. This gave Jur the unique freedom to rediscover his own values, vision and goals without being influenced by past experiences.

With his presence at our strategy day in September 2024, Jur inspired us to look at the future in a norm- and value-free way. To choose each day which experiences to take with you into today, instead of allowing yourself to be too influenced by the past. A life attitude that fully fits the JBR Jubilee year.
